The light
It glows
It wavers
It glimmers
It wobbles
It flickers
It is so bright
Yet so far
The light which beckons
At the end of the dark, dark tunnel.

BUSH'S JUST REWARD

Like the say
The good that men do live after them.
So we live to leave an heritage, a legacy that we will be remembered for
But, in the course of leaving a legacy,
George W. Bush Jnr. left something he would not be too proud of...
The American economy is in shambles and I will bet my hat it had something to do with the relentlessness and recklessness with which the American Government under Bush pursued and executed the war in Iraq and Afghanistan...the billions of dollars wasted was bound to have effect on the world economy one way or the other.
For all his strutting and war mongering, what has he left behind?
A very weak American economy, a very battered international perception of the American government and people and a shoe I am sure he is forever going to keep as a memento.
Let not forget that little bit of stick from Osama Bin Laden.
Hopefully, someone with his head screwed on tight is taking the baton of leadership from him and his Republican cohorts.
The African wind of change favours you ....Barack!

HOLIDAY

Sweet, sweet peace
How pleasant it is to stay calm
After so many weeks of hassles and bustle
I lay here with my head on my palms
As I ruminate on days and dreams gone by
Some fulfilled and many more still a pipe dream
Thousands of miles away are my friends
All living life the best way they can
I cherish the restlessness of school and work
But, I love it better the peace and quiet of home.

THIS DREAM

This dream,
Peeping through multiple layers of the subconscious mind
Gathering in the recesses of the shallowest pits
In dormant form it continues to fester
This hope,
The last remaining straw for the drowning man
So frail and brittle looking
Forever in the distance like the treacherous mirage
Always promising but never delivering
This change,
Promising futures of unimaginable glory
Of things anew and afresh so savory
Left cowering at the smoking, angry feet of status quo
This life,
My own, one and only dream
Mine to dream and to shape as I deem
This Dream of Hope and Change in my Life.

TIME

Flow and never so slow
Glow always to show
The way down through the days
Of our lives just gone by in a daze
Flow and never so slow, I say.
So many ways we stray
In a bid to live and find daily feed
Open skies with birds singing away
The choruses of ages gone astray
Flow and never so slow.
Flow and never so slow;
Time, you ageless marker
Of legacies and leprous ignominy
Watch and mark, but never so slow
Flow and never so slow
Time.
Never so slow.
WHEN IT COMES

It is bright and it shines
Gives a glow brighter than snow
Radiates and shimmers in the distant horizon
The warmth ever heartwarming
Bask in the heat of the warmth
Let it permeate deep beneath the skin
And right throw your bones
Where you feel the cold no more
Take the moment and be joyful
Squeeze all the happiness and love out of what you have
'Cos when it comes you cannot guarantee
It will be out there waiting forever!
THE GATHERING

Look into the dark night
About that time when the fox howls in distant parts
Gathered beneath the great baobab are knights
They gather and mumble out of sight
Shrouded in cloaks and shrouded in mystery
Even the owl cannot decipher from its high perch
What the knights deliberate with grave dispatch
In the dark of the night, where they gather
History is rewritten and posterity altered
With a stroke of that aged cane, all is made arcane
When the Knights gather
All should fear and cower
For, when dawn peeps through the dark
Men's lives would have been ruined
And nations' wealth well pruned.

NIRVANA
Nirvana
Nirvana was a popular American grunge rock band founded in 1987 in Aberdeen, Washington. With the lead single "Smells Like Teen Spirit" from the band's 1991 album Nevermind, Nirvana exploded into the mainstream, bringing along with it an offshoot of punk and alternative rock that the mainstream media of the time referred to as grunge. Other Seattle grunge bands such as Alice in Chains, Pearl Jam, and Soundgarden also gained in popularity, and, as a result, alternative rock became a dominant genre on radio and music television during the early-to-middle 90s. more...

SOLITUDE PT2
as the world goes by spinning like a carousel
Stand aside and view
the happy people as they get on with their lives
The world goes on without a care for him
who sorrows and worries and despairs
The thoughts and travails of others are thrown
away and forgotten
In a moment of joyful and merry rejoicings
Sit alone and weep in the misfortune that has befallen you
Rave, rage and rant at your solitary state
The silence, the loneliness...
But, be sure it won't be forever.
SOLITUDE
Silence; the shroud of peace and comfort
Solitude; the blanket that shrouds all in protective embrace
The oppresive quietude that hangs overhead
Leaves everything cowering in daunting solemnity
As the wind whistles by, kissing and caressing the leaves and the shrubs
Listen,
Hear the ants and other insects going about in the deep wood forest
Watch the birds fly high in distant skies
And the fishes swimming gloriously in the cool, refreshing stream
as it flows on its long journey into the big river beyond
Feel the rustling of the leaves and the swaying of the trees,
as they bow their heads in perpetual obeisance to the rushing winds
Let the tranquility and the spirit of the calm jungle atmosphere
Permeate your whole being as you wallow deeper in the waters of
SOLITUDE.

EASTERN STAR

I saw a shiny star
Never thought I would see one like it
Not this far into the eastern parts
Where I have sojourned these past weeks
I have searched far and wide
Looking all the time for something
Something I know not what
But, now I think I have found it
The precious object that I have searched for
It is so beautiful and bright
Giving out a glow that melts the soul
How I wish I could hold and touch for a while
Oh! I will rather I keep it as mine
Would you come to me shiny star if I call?

BOOK OF LIFE

The morning brings forth new dreams
Created by yesterday's conscious schemes
Life is just like a film
Acted by majority with full steam
Life comes in stages and phases
Each to be taken with different paces
Because of the frequent change in casts and faces
Which time has thrown up to fill the empty spaces
For those who rush at life with vigor
They soon find out often too late of its rigors
That has left countless souls in senseless stupor
With little hope of revival, but from the divine Saviour
Life is a book
In which the spaces are all booked
Both by the civil and the crook
For all to learn what they've cooked

STILL BORN
It is a still born
How do we tell Her?
That her first born,
A son, is a still born
Oh! Grief and sorrow
The unshed tears inside flow
Of deep pain making all hollow.
Who will tell Her?
That Her beautiful baby boy in a bundle
Is not for Her eyes to behold and Her hands to fondle
Oh! Grief, loss and fearful sorrow.
It is a still born
The yet to be heralded joy is now immeasurable sorrow
Desolate faces of inept doctors tell it all
The bilous tongue refusing to utter
What the inevitably betraying eyes has seen
Oh! Who will tell Her?
That her babyis no more
She rejoices ignorantly
Not knowing that her nurtured foetus of four decades and more
Is born a warped, twisted and ugly tot
Condemned to no other fate than that of decay, neglect and and more.

RAIN
Falling down the Drains
Down, down it drips
Deep into the soil it seeps
Tiny drops of beauty
Pouring down on the city
Shiny drops that creeps
Slowly and surely all over the streets
Rain drops so crisp and sweet
Washing away all the city's pains.
WHO CAN?
Gradually the rickety bus grinds to a halt
The end, the end
Slowly the monstrous train screeches to a halt
As the brakes are applied to bring it to a stop
Where is the end?
To this senseless killing and mindless maiming
When will it stop?
The high powered corruption
The blue and white collar crimes
Who will apply the brakes?
To put a stop to this rumbling, crumbling and ready to crash country?
Rolling unhindered down the road to self-destruction
Tell me who?
BEAUTY
Smooth to the touch, mellow to the sight
Soft voice, full sensous lips
Pleasant to the ear, pleasurable to kiss
Long hands, slender frame
Quick to hold, frail to the touch
Soft palms, loving heart
Ready to caress, yearning to love
Quick to temper, always soothing the pains
Takes time to learn her and gain her confidence, never to be made sad
Come into my world paragon of beauty, the limitless source of love and joy
Bbay Girl, your name is engraved forever in this yearning heart.
HOME RUN
Mother of so many and father of MANY MORE
Come to rest loving, caring and wonderful morn'
The evening sets in gradually to its place of yore
Come in you weary, hardworking sun glow
Rest your HEAD HERE carefully,
Yes! there you are...Mother Africa....
ANTITHESIS
Lashes of pain, buffet of agony
Wailings and groanings, gnashings and moanings
Terror of failure, fear of disappointment
Dreams gone awry, never to be rejuvenated
Love gone sour, friendship turned into enmity
Good and Bad
These are the forces that rule men's lives.
NEW
Anyone?
