The light
It glows
It wavers
It glimmers
It wobbles
It flickers
It is so bright
Yet so far
The light which beckons
At the end of the dark, dark tunnel.

BUSH'S JUST REWARD

Like the say
The good that men do live after them.
So we live to leave an heritage, a legacy that we will be remembered for
But, in the course of leaving a legacy,
George W. Bush Jnr. left something he would not be too proud of...
The American economy is in shambles and I will bet my hat it had something to do with the relentlessness and recklessness with which the American Government under Bush pursued and executed the war in Iraq and Afghanistan...the billions of dollars wasted was bound to have effect on the world economy one way or the other.
For all his strutting and war mongering, what has he left behind?
A very weak American economy, a very battered international perception of the American government and people and a shoe I am sure he is forever going to keep as a memento.
Let not forget that little bit of stick from Osama Bin Laden.
Hopefully, someone with his head screwed on tight is taking the baton of leadership from him and his Republican cohorts.
The African wind of change favours you ....Barack!

HOLIDAY

Sweet, sweet peace
How pleasant it is to stay calm
After so many weeks of hassles and bustle
I lay here with my head on my palms
As I ruminate on days and dreams gone by
Some fulfilled and many more still a pipe dream
Thousands of miles away are my friends
All living life the best way they can
I cherish the restlessness of school and work
But, I love it better the peace and quiet of home.

THIS DREAM

This dream,
Peeping through multiple layers of the subconscious mind
Gathering in the recesses of the shallowest pits
In dormant form it continues to fester
This hope,
The last remaining straw for the drowning man
So frail and brittle looking
Forever in the distance like the treacherous mirage
Always promising but never delivering
This change,
Promising futures of unimaginable glory
Of things anew and afresh so savory
Left cowering at the smoking, angry feet of status quo
This life,
My own, one and only dream
Mine to dream and to shape as I deem
This Dream of Hope and Change in my Life.

TIME

Flow and never so slow
Glow always to show
The way down through the days
Of our lives just gone by in a daze
Flow and never so slow, I say.
So many ways we stray
In a bid to live and find daily feed
Open skies with birds singing away
The choruses of ages gone astray
Flow and never so slow.
Flow and never so slow;
Time, you ageless marker
Of legacies and leprous ignominy
Watch and mark, but never so slow
Flow and never so slow
Time.
Never so slow.
WHEN IT COMES

It is bright and it shines
Gives a glow brighter than snow
Radiates and shimmers in the distant horizon
The warmth ever heartwarming
Bask in the heat of the warmth
Let it permeate deep beneath the skin
And right throw your bones
Where you feel the cold no more
Take the moment and be joyful
Squeeze all the happiness and love out of what you have
'Cos when it comes you cannot guarantee
It will be out there waiting forever!
THE GATHERING

Look into the dark night
About that time when the fox howls in distant parts
Gathered beneath the great baobab are knights
They gather and mumble out of sight
Shrouded in cloaks and shrouded in mystery
Even the owl cannot decipher from its high perch
What the knights deliberate with grave dispatch
In the dark of the night, where they gather
History is rewritten and posterity altered
With a stroke of that aged cane, all is made arcane
When the Knights gather
All should fear and cower
For, when dawn peeps through the dark
Men's lives would have been ruined
And nations' wealth well pruned.

NIRVANA
Nirvana
Nirvana was a popular American grunge rock band founded in 1987 in Aberdeen, Washington. With the lead single "Smells Like Teen Spirit" from the band's 1991 album Nevermind, Nirvana exploded into the mainstream, bringing along with it an offshoot of punk and alternative rock that the mainstream media of the time referred to as grunge. Other Seattle grunge bands such as Alice in Chains, Pearl Jam, and Soundgarden also gained in popularity, and, as a result, alternative rock became a dominant genre on radio and music television during the early-to-middle 90s. more...

NEW MONTH AND LAST ONE
A new month
But the last one
I waited for so long
Now it is here
The yuletide month
Time for merry and merrymaking
Yippeeeeeeee!
